Dear Parents and Guardians,
I want to thank you for your patience over the past week as our CCS community has worked with administration to determine how to move forward during this time of constant change.
At present I will be suggesting opportunities for somethings familiar – Greek Tests – and somethings new – Problem of the Week.
In addition I will post a weekly Letter to Parents/Guardians and a weekly Letter to Students.
Please remember that these opportunities to “do” math (practicing previously learned skills and concepts through a variety of experiences) are provided to help students maintain their “math muscle”.
Wishing you and your family health and calm.

(I will also be posting Classwork and Homework from Impact Math for those who want to challenge themselves with new mathematical content.)

Dear Sixth Grade Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the CCS Grade 6 Math Site – soon to be the FRR Grade 6 Math Site!.
At present the site includes the following:
1) weekly classwork assignments
2) daily homework assignments
3) the list of math terms included in the student-made math dictionaries for the first quarter
4) criteria (and percentage values) for the first quarter grades
5) extra credit/projects
and
6) resources for parents of teens and tweens.
Next week we will begin our unit on Number Theory. We will be discussing conventions (which are rules that are made to make our lives as math students more convenient) and order of operations. We will also be looking at properties including the Associative and Commutative Properties for addition and multiplication.
Please note that my office "hours" for students and parents are Mondays 2:30 - 3:00. Students are encouraged to stop by during the WIN period on Wednesdays when they have been absent from class.
Do contact me by email if you would like to schedule a meeting at any time throughout the year: ([email protected]).
I look forward to seeing you next week at the Middle School Open House on Wednesday, September 25th.
